1. Analog system is the system with low cost. Because there are many types of cameras to choose from small to large systems with infrared system installed within the camera providing a lot options for various types of applications. In analog systems, there are only PAL and NTSC technologies allowing different camera brands to be integrated into the same system. And since analog systems have been developed and almost reached the last phase of the technology, most of the problems were already solved which means the chance that the new problem will occur is very limited.

2. HD system can be divided into 4 subtypes:

2.1 AHD can be used with the cable length up to 500 meters on 3C lines (3C line is smaller than RG-6). It supports 720p 60fps and 1080p 30 fps. It is also compatible with analog camera 960H/D1.

2.2 HDCVI supports cable length up to 500 meters (3C cable). It supports 720p 60fps and 1080p 30 fps. The DVR cannot record the mix of 720p and 1080p video together so you need to choose just one type.

2.3 HDSDI in the CCTV system supports 1080p/720p at a very good level. The cable length can be up to 150m and the videos are in real-time but you will need a high quality cable.

2.4 HD-TVI can accommodate the cable length of 500 meters (5C cable) and 300 meters (3C cable). It supports 720p 60fps and 1080p 30 fps. The DVR can record the mixed videos between 720p and 1080p.

3. IP system is the high definition resolution. Because it can surpass the analog limitation at 600 TVL. IP system can go up to the high definition which is 1080P or 2MP 4MP. It can expand the number of cameras endlessly since there is no need to depend on the number of channels of DVR. It has more functions that make it more convenient to use because it has a basic computer system making it possible to use software to manage it.

However, there are two types of popular CCTV cameras nowadays. These two types will have different advantages and disadvantages so you should select the one that suits your needs the most.

Analog Camera: Analog CCTV camera is a camera that uses a coaxial or RG series cable as a signal device. There are some limitations such as the signal line can be jammed making the image not that clear.

Advantages Cost: Analog system has cheaper cost and more f\lexible than IP system because there are many types of cameras to choose from small to large systems with infrared system installed within the camera providing a lot options for various types of applications. IP Camera: CCTV IP camera is a camera that need to be set up the IP over the network to determine the identity of the image display. It also requires the use of a LAN or CAT5 cables to connect or some models might be used wirelessly. This system is more expensive than the first one and requires more knowledge in setting the system.
Advantages: It supports the work via wireless networks rather than the analog system. The IP camera can be used with the existing LAN network without rewiring and is easy to add more devices. If you want to add a camera, it can be easily done without the limitation of DVR channels. It also works efficiently since each camera can work independently, no need to send images to be processed at the main camera resulting in a full quality image. Each camera has its own IP address so that the setting can be done easily. In terms of the resolution, since it is a digital system, it can surpass the limitation of analog system from 576 TVL to 1080p. Some POE models can transmit power via the LAN cable without a separated power wiring. Finally, the security is very high because it works on a digital system that the backup process can always be made.
