Inkjet Printer
It is a widely used type of printer today because there are many advantages over a dot matrix printer. The characteristics of the components and how the inkjet printer processes are similar to a dot matrix printer. It is because the inkjet printer is developed from a dot matrix printer, making the components similar. The only notable difference is the printing head. For inkjet printer, the toner used is liquid, which is sprayed out on a printing material like paper or plastic. Nowadays, it is widely used among Home users because it is a multi-purpose printer at a more affordable price than other types of printer. The advantages and disadvantages of this type of printer are as follows.
Advantages: Nowadays, this type of printer is very cheap. It can print colored documents or graphics work. The operation is fast and the resolution is high. It does not produce a loud sound while printing. The size of the device is compact and light. Most importantly, you can refill the toner yourself at an affordable price.
Disadvantages: The printing head may encounter a lot of problems such as clogged toner. The genuine toner and spare parts are expensive. Nowadays, there are many models from many brands such as Epson, NEC, Hewlett Packard, Lexmark, and Compaq

Laser printer
A laser printer is the most widely used printer in companies and stores that require high-resolution printing quality. This type of printer gives the best printing quality compared to an inkjet printer. An inkjet printer will always show some flaws because of the liquid toner used. On the other hand, a laser printer uses a powdered toner that is dissolved on a paper making the better quality for printed text and images. Today this type of printer is affordable and thus is widely used. The advantages and disadvantages of this type of printer are as follows.
Advantages: Printing quality is the best with the highest printing speed. It is very quiet when printing. The device is compact and affordable. The toner is refillable. 
Disadvantages: Most models are only for printing in black and white mode. If it can print in color mode, the price will become very expensive. The genuine toner cartridge is expensive. However, there is a reusable type available in the market. The price for spare parts and repair is also high.
