AppleCare

All Apple hardware comes with a one-year limited warranty. To extend your coverage further, purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan available for all Apple hardware. The coverage starts when you activate your device. AppleCare will offer Apple customers to extend the warranty period for the product as needed. The additional period will vary as follows.

iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Apple TV come with a one-year limited warranty. Purchasing AppleCare will extend your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your device. Mac devices come with a one-year limited warranty. Purchasing AppleCare will extend your coverage to three years from the original purchase date of your Mac.

The additional warranty will project the hardware from any damages or failures in the future, giving users peace of mind that they will receive support from Apple if the device has a problem.

All Apple hardware comes with a one-year limited warranty and up to 90 days of complimentary telephone technical support. If your device meets the criteria, you can extend your coverage further. Purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan or AppleCare+ for further warranty (additional information below).

As mentioned above, in addition to AppleCare, there is also AppleCare+ and Apple Protection Plan. All Apple hardware comes with a one-year limited warranty. To extend your coverage further, purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan. The AppleCare Protection Plan warranty will increase the coverage period of the hardware: 2 years for iPad, 3 years for Mac, 2 years for iPod Touch, 3 years for Apple screen, and 2 years for Apple TV from the original purchase date of your devices. It provides repair or replacement coverage for both parts and labor from Apple-authorised technicians. You can send your device to the iCare Service Center near you. You can also contact Apple experts to help troubleshoot issues with your devices. For those who are interested, you can view the information and purchase additional warranty via the AppleCare website. The AppleCare Protection Plan can be purchased only while your device is still covered under the standard one-year limited warranty from the day of purchase.

AppleCare+ is another extension of coverage for Apple products as well, but for a longer period than the standard one-year warranty. It covers iPhone devices for 2 years, iPad for 2 years, Mac for 3 years, iPod touch for 2 years, Apple Watch for 2 years, Apple Watch Edition and Apple Watch Hermès for 3 years from the date of purchase. It will protect both technical and hardware aspects as well as software support. You will get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts via chat or phone. However, it is a pity that AppleCare+ is not available to users in Thailand. For those who are abroad and use Apple device that meets the protection criteria, you can view more information and purchase additional warranty via the AppleCare+ website within 60 days and 30 days (for Japan) from the date of purchase of the device.

Therefore, the difference between AppleCare and AppleCare+ is the type of the device protected. AppleCare sold in Thailand provides protection for two less Apple devices than AppleCare+ sold elsewhere, namely Apple Watch and iPhone. However, you can purchase AppleCare for additional insurance within a year from the date of purchase. While you need to buy AppleCare+ within 30-60 days of purchase. Other than that, the coverage and the period of the warranty are identical (2017: kapook.com).
